During the locked-down summer of 2020 I found a copy of The Conservative Manifesto 2010 outside a recycling bin in Westminster. Around the same time I ordered an 1895 edition of Edward Lear’s The Nonsense Poems. This sequence works through each page of both books to explores the similarity of rhymes.
Each title is taken from the headings and subheadings of the manifesto, titled Invitation to Join The Government of Britain, and all drawings and sketches are cut ups of Lear’s originals.
